Zonda (formerly BitBay) is an Estonian cryptocurrency exchange with Polish origins, established in 2014 in Katowice.
For a long time, as BitBay, the platform was one of the most popular cryptocurrency exchanges in Poland. Founded in Poland, it later moved to Malta, before finally settling in Estonia, where it found the most favorable environment for doing business.
In early November 2021, BitBay rebranded as Zonda . The platform offers trading in over 50 popular cryptocurrencies and also has a mobile app for iOS and Android.
The company is regulated by the Estonian Financial Supervision Authority (FSA). Currently, Zonda’s market share has declined, and based on its daily turnover, the exchange ranks around 200th out of 269 exchanges included in the CoinMarketCap ranking.
Over the past year, the exchange has also faced numerous negative reviews regarding the blocking of customer funds. Zonda explains that the reason for these incidents is the strict KYC and AML procedures it adheres to.
