IC Markets sponsors six German football clubs

Sports sponsorship is gaining ground among trading platforms. Another Forex and CFD broker entering the sports industry is IC Markets, which has signed partnership agreements with six German football clubs. Sponsored clubs are Bayer Leverkusen, Hertha Berlin, FC Augsburg, Arminia Bielefeld, Greuther Fürth and VfL Bochum.

Under the signed contracts, the broker will receive the rights to advertise its brand on LED bands placed around the pitch and the rights to the logo and intellectual property. However, neither party disclosed any financial details related to the transaction.

Campaign targeting the German market

“The attention-grabbing TV coverage of the German Bundesliga matches will go a long way to increasing IC Markets brand awareness in Germany,” – said Hendrik Schiphorst, president of Sportfive, which brokered the sponsorship deals between the Australian broker and football clubs.

The headquarters of IC Markets is located in Australia, and the company operates in Europe through an entity registered in Cyprus. In addition, the broker is licensed by financial market regulators from Australia, Seychelles and the Bahamas.

Brokers increase brand recognition

The latest deals mark the broker’s first entry into German football, but sports sponsorship is nothing new for IC Markets, which signed a deal with OG Esports in August. IC Markets is not the only broker that has signed large sponsorship deals in the sports industry. EToro, which will soon be listing its shares on the US Stock Exchange, has partnered with a range of football clubs across Europe and the UK. It has also partnered with several sports teams on other continents to increase the global recognition of its brand.
