A Market Maker Broker literally makes the market. It creates its own internal trading market by taking the rates from the interbank market and adding appropriate spreads (broker’s earnings) to them. This way, the other party to the transaction is actually the MM broker. On the one hand, such brokers are often suspected of trading against their clients, but on the other hand, only such brokers are able to provide protection against the negative balance on their clients’ accounts.
